Sick Kids Are a Bummer

I have an 8 year old, a 5 year old, and an 11 month old and between them all I feel like I am constantly dealing with sick children. In the latest Sick-Kid saga my 11 month old got the stomach flu, which turned into massive diarrhea and vomiting. Needless to say, my husband and I ended up having to take him into the hospital for dehydration. No one there could get a vein to put the IV in, so they just sat and tortured him for about a half hour. Finally they called the Pediatric Life Flight Crew to come in. Can I just say, that they were wonderful! I have never met anyone so kind and sympathic to my child. They finally got the IV going and after 3 doses of fluids he was sent home. He is stumbling (I say that because he is still learning to walk) around again and smiling his cheesy smile, so I think we are on the road to recovery. It is so sad to see your own children sick, but then such a blessing when they start acting like themselves again. It's interesting how you wish they would just settle down, and when they do because they're sick you wish they would be hyper again. Sometimes being a mom you find yourself laughing and crying within minutes of each other. Oh, the joys of Motherhood.

WELCOME!

Hi, I'm pretty new at this, but it sounded fun and I'm trying it. As I do with everything, I pretty much jump in and then see how it goes. Welcome to my site. I hope you'll visit often to see what is happening in my classroom and at my house.
